Aranka Barbé

High Brass Intern

Aranka Barbé attends the University of North Texas and will be student teaching and receiving her B.M.E. in the spring. She has performed with the UNT orchestras, operas, and in the Symphonic Band under the direction of Dennis Fisher and the Wind Ensemble under Dr. Nicholas Williams. In addition to performing, Aranka enjoyed her UNT time as member of Mu Phi Epsilon.

A lifelong musician, Aranka developed an affinity for the marching arts in early high school and later a passion for teaching that led to a career in the world of music education. Aranka taught as high brass tech for the Lone Star Drum and Bugle Corps in their 2019 season and has worked with the Flower Mound HS, UNT Green Brigade, Wakeland HS, and Cypress Woods HS marching band programs as visual tech. She also teaches middle school and fifth grade music lessons.

Aranka started her drum corps journey in 2014 with the Academy Drum and Bugle Corps as mellophone soloist and aged out with the Boston Crusaders on lead mellophone in 2018. She plans to continue teaching in the drum corps community throughout her career.

In her spare time Aranka enjoys composing and arranging music, reading, and spending time outdoors.
