Low Brass Technician
Zach Sullivan is currently the proud Director of Bands at Bradford High School in Starke, Florida. Immediately after graduating with a bachelor's in music education from the University of Florida in December of 2016, Zach joined the faculty at Bradford High School in January of 2017. Since starting at Bradford, Mr. Sullivan has revamped the band program most recently winning the prestigious Otto J. Kraushaar Award for Straight Superior Ratings at all Florida Bandmasters Association Music Performance Assessments in the 2018-2019 school year. This was the first time Bradford High School had reached this incredible feat since 1978.
Mr. Sullivan has performed with many ensembles throughout his time at the University of Florida. While being a member of the UF Wind Symphony for four years, Mr. Sullivan has performed with the UF Symphonic Brass, the UF Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble, the Ocala Symphony Orchestra, the United States Air Force Band, on euphonium and the UF Symphony Orchestra, UF Jazz Band, and Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra on bass trombone. He performs regularly with the Gainesville Pops, under the director of Robert Gary Langford. In the Gainesville Pops 2017 Spring season, Mr. Sullivan was featured as a soloist performing Rhapsody for Euphonium and Concert Band by James Curnow.
Zach marched two years in The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps in 2014 and 2015. He returned to the Drum Corps activity in 2017 as a member of the Brass Staff at The Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps and worked with them in the summers of 2018 and 2019 as well. Currently, Zach is a member of the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps Brass Team and is excited for what awaits in the future.
