Blue Stars Alumnus Injured in Iraq Jan 12, 2010 7:17 PM
Andy Toppin, 21, was critically injured while serving his country in Iraq. He received life-threatening injuries when an EFP (Explosively Formed Penetrator) struck his vehicle during a Military Police mission. Andy was quickly transported to the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, and is being treated for severe burns to his arms and face. His legs suffered significant damage that required partial amputation to the right one.
The Blue Stars and Blue Stars Alumni Association has established the Andy and Ashley Toppin Recovery Fund to help Andy, Ashley and their unborn baby in this time of need. If you would like to make a donation to help this young family, please send a check as follows:

Harry Houdini was a masterful performer on a most unconventional world stage. Omnipresent, he transcended the individual venues of his time. Houdini compelled audiences to enter his performances, and as he broke through one barrier after another he liberated their imaginations with his own. He knew he could make an audience think and feel as he chose. Houdini knew the power of his art and he knew its danger.

2010 Auditions

The Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps is pleased to announce the return of Chris De Leon, Robert Barfield, and Kevin Ford to lead its visual program for the 2010 season. De Leon and Barfield are returning for their second seasons, and Ford will be back for his third season with the corps.

The Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps is pleased to announce Frank Sullivan as Brass Arranger and Brass Caption Head and Josh Talbott as Assistant Brass Caption Head for the 2010 season. Sullivan has been the heart and soul of the Blue Stars' brass program since the corps' return to World Class competition in 2006. Talbott has been with the Blue Stars since the 2008 season as an ensemble consultant and mellophone technician. Together, along with the returning technical staff, they will continue the development and refinement of the Blue Stars' signature brass sound.

The Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps is excited to announce Tom Aungst as percussion caption head and arranger and Neil Larrivee as front ensemble coordinator and arranger for the 2010 season. Both Tom and Neil were percussion consultants to the Blue Stars in 2009, and will fully run the percussion program for the upcoming season.
