Brass Odyssey Featured Four from Blue Stars' Family

The Blue Stars were well represented on the recently completed Brass Odyssey tour of Japan. Four members of the Blue Stars' family were among the elite 47-member Brass Odyssey cast: Brass Technician Amy Frost (trumpet/piccolo trumpet), Member Ellie Lundin (trumpet), Brass Technician Melissa Primavera (bass trombone/euphonium/baritone), and Color Guard Technician Krystal "Cookie" Shepherd (visual ensemble).
Billed as "The Best of America's Dream Team," and performing as the Brass Angels, the two-hour stage show "Odyssey" featured a fast-paced mix of musical styles combined with the dynamic motion of marching and dance. |

Blue Stars Accepting Intern Applications for the 2009 Season

| The Blue Stars internship program gives participants an incredible
opportunity to be a part of the administration of a Drum Corps International World Class Drum and Bugle Corps during its Spring Training and Summer Touring season. There are four positions available, and these positions play a vitally important role in keeping the tour smooth and efficient in operation. Candidates should be mature, self-motivated, team players who are passionate about drum corps, stay calm under pressure and aren't afraid
to get their "hands dirty" when needs arise. Interns will be expected to participate in all administrative aspects of the 2009 Blue Stars, and will report directly to the Corps Director and Tour Director. |

| Chris De Leon joins the Blue Stars organization as Visual Caption Head for the 2009 season. Joining De Leon will be Bob Barfield as a key Visual Program Consultant and Instructor, as well as Chris Turner as a Lead Movement and Marching Technician. |

Sullivan, Ford, and Larrivee Complete Blue Stars 2009 Design Team

The Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps is pleased to announce the return
of Frank Sullivan and Kevin Ford, and the addition of Neil
Larrivee as designers for the corps' 2009 production. Sullivan returns
for his fourth season as brass arranger and composer, Ford returns for
his second season as drill designer, and Larrivee joins the percussion
team as arranger and consultant. They join the previously announced
2009 designers: Michael Shapiro, color guard; Brent Montgomery,
percussion; Tom Aungst, percussion; and Seth Adams, percussion. |

Under Michael's design and instruction, the Blue Stars' 2008 guard placed 7th at the DCI World Championships and dazzled audiences with the their skill, performance and creativity. |

Blue Stars Take 8th Place At DCI

 The 2008 Ending to the show included a formation of a cyclist, complete with rotating wheels
For the first time in 29 years, the Blue Stars placed in the top twelve corps at the DCI Finals. The Blue Stars finished in 8th place in 2008 after 14th place finishes in 2007 and 2006.
Here are the scores from Saturday's Finals Show:
