Front Ensemble Caption Manager

Residing in South Texas, Cristian Zavala is an active performer & educator whose experience includes classical and marching percussion. Currently, Cristian is an Adjunct Professor of Percussion at Texas A&M University-Kingsville where he teaches lessons, percussion methods, and leads The Pride of South Texas marching percussion sections.  

As a performer, Cristian has performed with The Orchestra Now, the New Manhattan Sinfonietta, Frost Percussion Group, the New World Symphony Percussion Section, Orchestra Miami, and the Kingsville Symphony Orchestra. An alum of the Blue Stars, Cristian was a member of the front ensemble in the 2014 and 2015 seasons. As an educator, Cristian has taught at Bard College Conservatory, Greater Miami Youth Symphony, Carrizo Springs High School, Santa Gertrudis High School, and Bishop High School. 

Cristian has received a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance degree from Texas A&M University-Kingsville and a Master of Music in Instrumental Performance degree at the University of Miami Frost School of Music.
