Sydney Rush currently resides in Mississippi where she is completing her Masters of Music degree in Music Education at the University of Mississippi. There she works as a Graduate Assistant for the concert ensembles and Pride of the South marching band. Sydney received her B.M.E. from Arkansas State University. While an undergraduate, Sydney played clarinet in the Wind Ensemble, Clarinet Studio, Howling Winds Woodwind Quintet, and euphonium in the Sound of the Natural State and concert band. She also served the Gamma Xi chapter of Tau Beta Sigma as President and was awarded the Tau Beta Sigma National Baton award for outstanding leadership.

Although primarily a clarinet player, Sydney marched euphonium with the Blue Stars in 2022. After aging out, Sydney has continued her involvement in the marching arts by teaching and drill-writing for high schools and universities.
