Jared Cockrum
Administrative Specialist
Jared began his time with the Blue Stars, marching in 2019 on mellophone and aging out in 2021. This is his first year on staff with the admin team.
Jared is from Tyler, Texas, where he grew up and later attended Tyler Junior College. While studying music, he performed in the Apache Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Bands before transferring to Texas A&M University-Commerce to finish his degree. During his time in Commerce, Jared was active in the Zeta-Kappa chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi and performed in the Pride Marching Band, Pride of the Court, and the Wind Ensemble. Jared received his B.A. in Music from the university.
During the spring of 2020, Jared and two close friends founded a media organization highlighting first responders in the line of duty, showing the work that often goes missed to the community. Currently,Jared is in school working to complete emergency medical and firefighting certifications to become a career firefighter.
In his free time, Jared enjoys the outdoors, playing video games, and is an avid motorsports fan.
